For years I have used inexpensive web hosting for my websites. It’s called “shared hosting”. I am paying about $70.00 US per year for this website. But unfortunately, this site crashes often. People often come to the site and they see the framework but no content! The home page will say, “Page not found.” I can fix it within minutes, but only when I am aware of the problem. Either somebody tells me which is often the case, or I see it myself. This means James Japan may be down for 8 hours or more if it crashes just after I go to bed. I think the reason for the crashing is because the site is now so heavy with many large articles the length of books.
Yesterday I paid for a month of my Japanese health insurance, 3800 yen or about $38. I thought if I can do that, why should I be so cheap to pay only $70 per year for hosting James Japan when I could get much better hosting for more money. Better hosting will not only solve the problem of this website crashing, it will also speed it up which will increase my ranking in Google and other search engines. This means more people will read the content.
The best deal for hosting I have found is from a company called WP Engine. It will give me virtual hosting, the next step up from shared hosting, at $29.00 US per month. But at this time with little income I cannot afford that. I have no pension and very little employment at this time in my life. I live by faith in God’s supply. I am blessed to live in a nice house where I pay no rent and only $300 a month for utilities. And if you have been to this website before, you know I hitchhike nearly everywhere I go that’s far which means my travel expenses are next to nothing. I am asking if the readers who often come to this site might want to help out with donations so I can host this site on WP Engine. I need $29 X 12 months or $348.00 for a year.
You can send me donations via Paypal at:
Or if you can’t do Paypal, you could send me an international money order. Just write me an email to
And I will send you my street address. It is needed to write the money order.
In Japanese I would say, yoroshiku onegai shimasu. It means, thank you beforehand for your cooperation. :)
