Did God really tell Abraham to Sacrifice Isaac? — 4 Comments

  1. Isn’t it strange, that God who is Purely Good, would order Abraham to Kill his innocent son, Isaac?
Would our loving Father, God, play a “Trick” like this on His loyal servant?
Could it be that God NEVER told Abraham to Sacrifice Isaac?

All of these questions are answered in this Teaching:

    • I do not consider the text questionable. The point of the article is to say God only told Abraham to prepare Isaac for sacrific actually sacrifice him. If you throw out that story, you have to throw away many other passages in the Bible that refer to it.

  2. Obviously this was a test to see how loyal Abraham was.
But most importantly to test home much common sense he had.
God needs to know if man throws away his common sense, morality,
    love, law under any circumstance.
To kill? Kill an innocent? To kill your own kin? To know God is love
yet do such an act. Why? Because authority told you? Abraham showed
no understanding of God or what he stands for.

    • If what you are saying is true then why did the angel of God commend Abraham rather than scold him?

Genesis 22:11  ¶And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.
12  And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
