Scriptures in the New Testament that are Referenced from the Old Testament — 4 Comments

  1. Thanks James, I printed this out for further study. You probably have already found that 1Cor 14:21 is often attributed to Isaiah 28:11-12. Gal.3:13 is probably from Deut. 21:23. 2Cor 4:13 may be from Psalm 116:10.
You have motivated me to look into this further!

    • Thank you Ron! Yes, I did find the OT reference to 1 Cor 14:21 and updated the article. I’ll update the other a little later today. Thank you for answering my call for help! We found a WIFI spot at a friend’s cafe but need to move on now.

  2. An excellent article James! I have been thinking about this very topic for years. You have put together one of the most important bible lessons anyone can study. Realizing the interrelationship between the two testaments is critical to understanding the bible as a whole. I’m sending a copy of your article to Andy Stanley! He has decided that the old testament is passe’ and is no longer needed.
Great job on an outstanding bible study.

    • Donna, thank you so much for your encouragement! All glory to God for what He does through me! When the Lord inspires me to work on a certain Bible study, it’s always fun and I learn new things. Thank you, Jesus!
