Should a Christian observe the Sabbath? — 6 Comments

  1. You are utterly wrong about the Sabbath – please consider making this distinction: The Law of Moses, and GOD’s Law of the Ten Commandments. The dispute of the apostles was regarding the Law of Moses – NOT regarding the Ten Commandments, as they are eternal. This is the difference: the law of Moses was placed besides the arc of the covenant, the LAW of GOD was placed INSIDE the arc of the covenant. The Law of Moses was written by the hand of Moses, on paper, the LAW of GOD was written by HIS OWN HAND, on STONE, TWICE. The Law of Moses is a Law of duties and works, the Law of GOD is a LAW of Righteousness, Love, Life, and Freedom – it is a Spiritual and Moral law. The Law of Moses requires sacrificial ceremonies, and is of no longer need, because the Jesus Christ fulfilled the FINAL Sacrifice, and the Law of Moses is transferred to the Law of Jesus Christ with the New Testament – by faith. It was by faith of respecting the Law of Moses that they received salvation, and yet they did not know what their faith was put on – which is Jesus Christ. And Now, it is by faith that the Law of Moses is continued, but through Jesus Christ and His Word and Testimony. But the Ten Commandments remain forever, and the purpose of Jesus dying and saving one from sin is to bring him back to righteousness, which is ONLY defined BY THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, and NOTHING ELSE. If you do not have the Ten Commandments as a blueprint, then your sense of righteousness is nothing but cunning SELF-righteousness based on relative self discernment of what right and wrong is dependent on the circumstance, rather on GOD’s Law. NOT ONCE is allowed in GOD’s Law to lie. Once you lie, you are fully dead. If you seek for justification to lie at certain occasions, then you will seek for justifications for any sorts of hypocrisy and sin. Thus, repentance is the only thing that can bring one back to the LAW, spotlessly perfect, with eternally forsaking sin – and sin is defined in the LAW, and Paul defines sin as a transgression of the LAW. Now do not confuse as to “which Law?” – sin is transgression of GOD’s Law – NOT the Law of Moses. And if you murder in your heart, or physically, you cannot be reborn in Jesus Christ – and the LAW says this. If you make fun of GOD’s Sabbath – you cannot be in Jesus Christ – because Jesus Christ is the LORD of the Sabbath, but if you are ignorant of the Sabbath, then you must acknowledge, and repent – but if you willfully continue to deny the blessed nature of the Sabbath – then that is a sin, only cleansed through repentance and forsaking. Please remember that it was the Finger of Jesus Christ that Wrote the Ten Commandments – it was HIS FINGER that wrote the fourth Commandment – Remember My Sabbath to keep it Holy. It is a Sabbath of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was the one that blessed it and hallowed it because He rested. And what GOD blesses, once, it is blessed forever, and let no man “unbless” it. Jesus said, when they tempted Him about divorce, That divorce is adultery – It is written that the man shall leave his parents and the woman her parents and they both will become ONE FLESH, and what GOD has united in one, let no man divide: And GOD blessed the man and the woman and told them to replenish the earth. And this blessing is the Law against divorce. And the blessing of the Seventh Day is the LAW against working on Sabbath – because ‘work’ is a deed of pride, and forsaking work is remembering your dependance on He Who created you and everything perfectly and required no additional work from you to improve it, because everything was perfect, and then you were created, and all you are required to do, is forsake your human arrogance, and remember the Glory of the Creator – Sabbath is a Day for this, and Sabbath is to remember the Glory of Jesus Christ, by Whom and for Whom everything was created. To Him be all the Glory as He is the Glory of the Father. Amen 🙂

Be blessed in the Lord Jesus Christ and I pray that you will patiently consider what I wrote you and consider the importance of the Sabbath – it is no “accident” that GOD emphasized the Sabbath by using the word – Remember. I pray that you will indeed remember. May GOD lead you into the FULL Armor of GOD – His complete Word in the fullness of truth. Amen.

    • First of all, the Sabbath was supposed to be day of REST, not necessarily a day of worship. We are supposed to worship God EVERY DAY!

Secondly, Christians traditionally met on a Sunday because our Lord Jesus rose on a Sunday. The Pope calling it the Sabbath has nothing to do with it. Yes, Sunday is not the Sabbath, Saturday the last day of the week is. No, it is NOT WRONG for Christians to assemble in fellowship meeting on Sunday. We are not observing the last day of Creation, we are worshiping the LORD of Creation!

Bottom line: The Gentiles in Acts 15 were NOT commanded to keep the Sabbath!!! There is NO WAY you can get around that!!

    • The one under the law is the son of the bondwoman Hagar and will not be heir with Christ. See Galatians 4! God writes the law of love on our hearts replacing the law written on tablets of stone. That includes the Ten Commandments written on stone. Read The Law of Moses vs. The Law of the Spirit on the “is, was and will be” site for a very long side by side scriptural comparison between the two laws.

      Romans 7
      Release from the Law
      (Galatians 3:15–25)
1 Do you not know, brothers (for I am speaking to those who know the law), that the law has authority over a man only as long as he lives? 2For instance, a married woman is bound by law to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is released from the law of marriage. 3So then, if she is joined to another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law and is not an adulteress, even if she marries another man.

4Therefore, my brothers, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God. 5For when we lived according to the flesh, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in our bodies, bearing fruit for death. 6But now, having died to what bound us, we have been released from the law, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.
