Mon. Nov. 18. I caught a cold and have a slight fever with a runny nose. I hope to get better before Friday so I can travel 3 hours by trike and bus to the immigration office to renew my visa.
Sunday, Nov. 17, 8:15 AM. Typhoon Pepito did not hit our area of Northern Samar very hard. There was no flooding or wind damage. Central Luzon was hit much harder. Just before the typhoon hit we invested in buying plywood to cover our windows. Though the storm didn’t hit us hard enough to require our windows boarded up, nevertheless we now have them for typhoons in the future.
Sat. Nov. 16, 8:16 AM local time: Typhoon Pepito has caused some heavy rain and strong wind in our area, but so far it’s not been very bad. The power went out but then came back after a minute. We may have dodged the bullet thanks to the Lord and your prayers for us! Luzon just north of us is being hit harder. The weather report says to expect 18 hours of strong wind.
Fri. Nov 15, 7:30 AM Philippine time: We are preparing for Typhoon Pepito which is due to arrive this evening. It may be a super typhoon. We bought plywood to cover the windows in order to protect our house. Presently it’s fair weather. Please pray the typhoon loses power. Typhoons usually result in the loss of electricity and internet.
Mon. Nov. 4, 3:00 PM. We expected heavy rain and wind today from the influence of a typhoon, but it turned out to be a beautiful sunny day! Praise the Lord!
Sunday, Nov. 3, 6:50 PM local time: Yet another tropical depression has hit the Philippines. It’s pouring rain. I hope tomorrow it won’t get worse because that would mean a power outage and loss of internet.
Wed. Oct. 30, 12:42 P.M. Tess and I feared heavy rain about this time from Cyclone Leon, but God had mercy on us and sent the cyclone a different direction! The sky is overcast but there’s no rain.
Tue. Oct. 29 5:50 A.M. Philippine time: A Severe tropical depression named Leon is on the way to the Philippines. Please pray it doesn’t do much damage.
Friday, Oct. 25: Most of the day we have had electric power, but without internet. It was restored in the evening.
Oct. 22nd was my wife Tess’ birthday, but we had to shelter in place at home due to a severe tropical storm! It was called Kristine in the Philippines. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tropical_Storm_Trami_(2024)
Severe weather always means power outages, and power outages mean no internet! I have much more I want to post on this website. Please pray for power and internet in Northern Samar, Allen, to become stable. There was no power or internet all of Tuesday and most of Wednesday. It was finally restored Wednesday evening, but we lost power and internet this Thursday morning. Now at 1 PM we have power and internet, but there’s no telling when it will go out again. Even with power sometimes we have no internet.
Friday, Sept. 27: Yesterday my wife and I went to the immigration office in Calbayog city and obtained another two-month visa extension. Today I am working on new project, “Watchwords for the Warfare of Life” By Martin Luther. It’s inspirational reading. I hope you will like it. I’m taking the text from a PDF file. In case of a power outage, I can still work on proofreading the text on my laptop PC of which is always fully charged.

Wed Sept. 25. Praise God I am well enough to travel again! Tomorrow Tess and I will go by bus to the immigration office to renew my visa, a 5 hour round trip from home.
The Two Babylons is now complete. You can download the entire book in PDF format.
My health is nearly 100% back to normal. I still have some coughing every so often. Just in time too, for I have to travel a couple hours on a bus before the end of the month to the immigration office in Calbayog to extend my visa. I can now extend it there for only two months at a time.

From Sept. 11 I started to relapse again. My wife convinced me to see Dr. Lao, a relative, who lives in the village, and he told me I have pneumonia. He prescribed antibiotics which I’ve been been taking. Three days later I’m well enough to write this.
Mon. Sept. 9. I’ve started to recover and was able to do some work today.
Sun. Sept. 8. I relapsed and don’t feel well enough today to do work on my website.
Sat. Sept. 7. I’m feeling much better today after 3 days of misery, praise God, and am able to do my ministry again on this website.
Thurs. Sept. 5th. I am not feeling well from yesterday. I have flu like symptoms the same as my wife had a few days earlier. Thankfully she recovered from them. I don’t have the habit of running to a doctor when I get sick. My God-given immune system has never failed me yet. Faith in God, rest, and plenty of fluids are the best medicines.
Mon. Sept. 2rd. We survived the torrential rains of yesterday with no damage to our property and belongings. There was severe flooding in other parts of our area of Northern Samar. People were wading through waist deep water in the city of Allen, an area we need to go to a couple times a week! Thank the Lord for His protection.
Sun. Sept. 1st. Torrential rains from a tropical depression knocked out the power and the internet for nearly the entire day. A field was turned into a lake!
Sat. Aug. 31, We suffered another 12 hour power outage from 6 A.M. to 6 P.M. Happily, because I scanned the last remaining pages of “The Antichrist: His Portrait and History.” I was able to work on proofreading it today thanks to a good battery on my laptop and post it after the power came back. No power also means no internet.
I made a PDF file of the book of all articles combined for you to download. https://www.jamesjpn.net/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/The-Antichrist-His-Portrait-and-History.pdf
Fri. Aug. 30, I have now only 10 pages left to proofread of “The Antichrist: His Portrait and History.” After I am done I’ll compile all the articles into one file and save it in PDF format for you to download in its entirety.
Tue. Aug. 27: Chapter VII of The Antichrist: His Portrait and History, is finally finished! I am scanning text from a paperback book, converting the scanned image into text with optical character recognition software, and then proofreading and formatting the text. The latter is the laborious part. It’s long read of 78 minutes. I added a table of contents to make it easier to read in sections.
This afternoon our ISP changed our modem from 4G to 5G. I told them that some of my friends say the WEF people may some day throw a switch to kill all Covid vaccinated people with EMF from a 5G signal. They laughed.
Thurs. Aug. 22. Chapter VII of the Antichrist is a very long chapter. Today I added more but another power outage slowed me down. Because I couldn’t scan more pages due to no power, I even hand-typed two paragraphs! But it’s too slow to do that. Tomorrow I will have more done.
The internet provider finally fixed the broken cable! We have internet at home again! PTL!
Mon. Aug. 19: There was an earthquake in the sea just north of our island of Samar, 5.7 magnitude at 11:39 local time. Just a little shaking. My wife didn’t even feel it.
The internet is still down at home. We went to the internet provider in town, a half-hour drive from home, to file a complaint.
Sat, Aug. 17: We suffered another 6 A.M. to 6 P.M. power outage. I was still able to work on The Two Babylons thanks to a good battery in my laptop. I always try to keep in charged 100%. But we also have had no internet at home for the past 48 hours due to technical troubles with our provider! I had to go to a different location where there is internet to upload my work today. We lose internet from time to time but this is the longest ever. It’s usually due to a broken fiber optic cable somewhere between us and the provider.
